HOW TO SERVICE YOUR SMALL GENERATOR CARBURETOR

HOW TO SERVICE YOUR CARBURETOR!!!
Local generator repairers get about 60% of their income frrom just changing or servicing the carburetor. This DIY will not only save you money but also workshop labour. Now i'm guessing you've tried to srart your generator at this point and it's not responding or it shoots and goes back off, now go to the steps below.........
STEP 1: DISMANTLING THE CARBURETOR
firstly loosen the tank so you'll get enough space. then loosen the cover covering the carburetor(for small gens). Then you get the carburetor's bolts, loosen them also, move the board forwad so you can get to your carburetor. Unlock the throttle cable from the carburetor linkage.
2: Place it in a container to catch the fuel coming out, open the carburetor from bottom(you'll see a short bolt) loosen the bolt & remove the bowl. check for corrosion if there's corrosion you'll probably be needing a sandpaper to scratch of the corrosion and make the bowl smooth or if you can't go through the stress you could just buy a new one...i'd rather service mine and face the adventure..
3: dissect the carb on your work bench by removing (from bottom) bowl, float needle, float, seat. then from ontop you'll see an adjustment screw; loosen it and just below the jet is located loosen with a flat screw driver...i'd suggest you take digital photos for help during reassembly...
4:soak your carburetor in fuel and brush up with a brush..Allow to dry. now get a small strand of metal that could fit into the jets mouth, insert it to make sure nothing's blocking it..tighten it back also the adjustment screw. now going back from below blow the fuel pipe to check also for blockage if it's blocked, get a new carburetor if not reassemble the carburetor following the steps backward..couple your carburetor back to your generator and try starting....this process could also be used for an ELEPAQ 2900, TIGER 2700
